Discuss the key symptoms experienced by the client

Case Study

Tia is a 28-year-old Hispanic female. She has been referred to your clinic by her primary care physician. Tia states that her primary care doctor was concerned with the amount of alcohol that she reported drinking during the past three months. She reports that over the past three months she has gradually increased the amount of alcohol she has consumed, beginning with about one or two beers per night and now at approximately four to five beers and multiple shots of either whiskey or vodka. Tia states that her stress level has increased drastically along with the increase in alcohol use. She reports needing to drink some in the morning to alleviate some anxiety and to take the edge off of the physical discomfort that she feels. Tia shares that over the past month, she has needed more alcohol to feel the same effects she did initially. One concern Tia shares is that she is slightly worried about how much she has been craving alcohol. Tia states that when she is at work, she feels overwhelming urges to drink. She has not yet begun drinking while at work, but reiterates that she feels cravings throughout the day.
