According to interpretive/symbolic anthropologists, all social interaction is symbolic and meaningful. The work of anthropologists is to understand how things make sense in their own context or, as Clifford Geertz (1974) explains, come to an understanding of "the native's point of view." Discuss the ideas of various interpretive/symbolic anthropologists, and demonstrate their attempts to make sense of the actions of others.
