Directions: The mood in America after the Second World War was one of fear and uncertainty. While the Soviet Union had been a great ally in the war against Hitler and the Nazis, they now proved to be a very competitive enemy. Review this week's reading and assignments and then respond to the following questions:
1. Discuss the idea of McCarthyism and Containment.
2. Why did the US think it was necessary to go into Korea in the first place?
3. Discuss the concept of "Domino Theory" and why there was such concern that it would happen in Korea.
Your paper needs to answer all of these questions. Lines should be double spaced, with proper grammar and formatting. The paper needs to be at least 2 pages long (not including title page and reference page).
