My capstone topic is preventing CAUTIs.

This is my strategic plan summary:

There will be difficulties and potential barriers that will obstruct the process of implementing a new change to an organization, such as a protocol or procedure. Sometimes, the interference is the result of workers failing to follow newly implemented modifications. When trying to gather statistical information about the new protocol or method and its success in the company, this problem may act as a barrier and cause problems. Many employees could not adapt well to new workplace policies and changes because they are unwilling to alter the way they have been doing things for a long time. The lack of supplies needed to accomplish the change in the organization poses another barrier that could pose a problem. For instance, my change project calls for good organization, approved wipes for caring for Foley catheters, and various patient alternatives to catheter placement in order to launch a nurse-driven strategy to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections in the acute care context. My change project is a nurse-driven protocol. Therefore, the doctor's orders could be another problem. With this approach, nurses will have the option to remove the Foley and begin avoiding trial without a doctor's order by using the HOUDINI protocol. However, if the doctors are not also taught during the implementation phase, this could become a problem. It is crucial that every member of the healthcare team understands the new protocols that have been put in place and how they should be used. This will enable correct protocol usage, and everyone will be aware of how to do it. Before executing a change in an organization, it is critical to consider the culture and obstacles present. The project's objective is to be effective and result in better changes for our patients, but for that to happen, we must first address the potential problems and barriers. Also, in order to acquire approval and avoid these challenges along the way, it is crucial for me to communicate the project change accurately and thoroughly.
