Interactions of Hazardous Materials (APA FORMAT NOT NEEDED)
We come in contact with toxic substances every day. After reviewing the material in this unit, share with the class what you think are the two or three potentially most toxic substances that can enter our everyday lives.
Do you think that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and/or businesses are doing enough to limit these potential exposures?
Why, or why not?
Please understand that Fluoride and Formaldehyde cannot be used as examples here. That is due to the vast amount of bad, talking-head science that exists around these materials. If you chose to write on these two materials, you must include a full APA reference for a peer reviewed journal article to support your argument.
Earth Science (APA FORMAT NOT NEEDED)
Discuss the geologic history of the area where you live or grew up. Discuss some of the major factors that might have played a role in shaping the local terrain (major rivers, sea-level changes, volcanoes, ancient sea beds, glaciers, earthquakes, etc.).
If needed, spend a few minutes researching your state on-line, (search for your state and "geologic history"). Be sure to list all sources that you use in your answer.
