Instructions: Assume that you are a Department of Defense staff assistant who must explain intelligence oversight to a new political appointee. Portray the roles of policymakers, Executive Branch oversight, and Congressional oversight in an information paper. Be sure to address the following:
• Assess the impact of U.S. law on the conduct of intelligence operations.
• Compare and contrast the roles of government agencies in the collection and analysis of intelligence.
• Discuss the effects of the operational environment in which intelligence operations are conducted.
• Summarize the impact of commission recommendations on reform of the U.S. intelligence community.
Support your paper with at least five scholarly or professional resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
