Problem: Interview your manager (supervisor). Discuss their daily activities and relate these activities to the management functions of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling. Include this information in your posting along with the name of the organization and type of industry. (Do not include your manager's name, please.) What skills do the managers say they need to carry out their tasks? Ask which function your manager likes to do the best. Ask which function your manager likes to do the least. Did you learn new information about your boss? Explain. Will it be helpful to you in your present job? Explain how. If you do not have a job, find a manager that will discuss their job with you and answer the same questions.
