Discuss the culture of violence against women

Assignment Task: I need a reply to the following discussion post please:

"We live in what scholars call a rape prone society in which the culture of violence against women is so embedded in us that we forget it is even there. We have misinformed our young men about the definition of consent and we have defined sexuality in terms of power and obligation."  (TEDx Talks, 2017)

This week I chose a TedTalk by Reagan Williams. For me this video aligns with sexual coercion and how culturally unhealthy the way women are treated and expected to behave. Williams speaks about how Secondary Victimization is our social norm. While number of rape are high very few are reported. Victim blaming is a second suffering. As many as 1 in 4 college women are victims of rape with as much as 86% going unreported. (TEDx Talks, 2017). Male victims are are as common as 1 i 71 with that number skyrocketing to 1 in 16 in college years. As a society the idea that men cannot be raped is all too common. Rape is committed overwhelmingly by people you know. Rapists are constructed by social cultural attitudes that construct their behaviors and motivate their violence.
