Learning Activities Collaborative Discussion
Note: In completing these learning activities, you will always support the reasoning and conclusions made with the research and course material. What this means is that you will not depend solely on research but present information from the research and then support the reasoning using the course material.
The organizing function is where management synchronizes and combines the resources of the organization (people, capital, and physical) to complete the goals set out in the planning stage. All three of these resources are critical for attaining results. This week's Learning Activities will look at how Biotech will align the human resources of the new Asia Division, the culture that will guide the organizational behavior and how the products will align with the mission.
Learning Activity #1 - Theme 1 & 2
Grade 1: Collaborative Grade - Group discussion
You will post the following requirements by Wednesday by 8:59 p.m. eastern time in the Group Discussion area.
Each group member will research and present a two to three paragraph post in your assigned group area addressing the following:
The Director of the Asia Division has just tasked the GoTo Consulting group with determining the best line of cosmetic products to be used in the initial launch a year from now and the best location for sustainable and organic ingredients. The group leader has asked each member of your group to identify the following:
• The product(s) (i.e. lipstick, foundation, eyeliner, etc.) that would be best for the initial launch based on market analysis
• The potential percentage of net profit of the above products based on industry average for each product
• Identify and discuss the cosmetic companies that successfully provide these products that are sustainable and organic
• Identify the best location to source the organic materials for your ingredients. The group leader has asked everyone to research where current cosmetic companies are sourcing the materials and provide and explanation as to why the identified location would be the best source for the ingredients.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
