PART B. Ethical Conflicts in Corrections (2 Pages)
In the small town of Tidewater, an Assistant District Attorney was found guilty of child molestation and sexual exploitation of children.
The ADA was sentenced to 5 years in prison and 10 years on probation.
Write a 2 page, APA style paper addressing the different ethical conflicts the ADA might experience from serving his time in prison and on probation. Please include 2 to 3 references.
PART C. Booby Traps = Justified? (2 Pages)
In a two page paper, please discuss the following issue. Contrary to common law, today, in most, if not all states, a person cannot use deadly force in the defense of their property. Do you agree with this challenge. Should a property owner be allowed to use a bobby trap as long as notice, by use of sign for example, is provided to an intruder?
PART D. Entrapment (150 Words)
The police leave a car sitting in a parking lot with the keys in the ignition and the driver side door open. The defendant walks by, sees the car door is open, gets into the vehicle and drives away. As he was driving away the police stop him and charge him with motor vehicle theft. Does the defendant have a good entrapment defense? Would it make a difference if the police were looking specifically at this defendant and left the car in the street outside his house?
PART E. Credit Card Crime (2 Pages)
In a two page paper, please discuss the following: Assume a person accidentally picks up a credit card that is not theirs and uses the card in several instances.
Can the person be charged with multiple violations of a state statute that makes it a crime to "knowingly obtain, possess, use, or transfer a means of identification or financial information of another?" Why or why not? See State vs. Leyda, 138 P.3d 610 (Wash. 2006).
