• Define the term "conflict," and discuss the central conflict in each of these texts: i. The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, ii. Death and the King's Horseman, and iii. The Metamorphosis. Also, for each of these three texts, explain how the conflict is resolved.
• Discuss the concept of a hero in i. Tartuff, ii. Candide and iii. Hedda Gabler. Also, discuss how the hero type is different in each story.
