Read this article on "Triage during COVID" from National Public Radio. It is from October 2021, before the brunt of the latest surge in COVID patients. Even then, hospitals were having difficulty dealing with treating all of those who needed treatment. Many people were delayed or were unable to access care during the pandemic, and, as a result, they are ending up in Emergency Rooms.
