Medical Microbiology is a vast field of Microbiology that is aimed at using Microbiology techniques to diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. We can use the five I s (Inoculation, Incubation, Isolation, Inspection and Identification) to study the pathogenesis and characteristics of microbes. From diagnostic tests such as serological and biochemical tests to treatment strategies such as study of antibiotics and other antimicrobial drugs, medical microbiology helps to understand the epidemiology of disease and effectively control the pathogen.
