Back in the 1950s (around the time of my grandparents), technology was very different from what it is today. Back then, they didn't have access to a smartphone, the internet, or social media. Their way of communicating was by landline or face-to-face. Even being able to watch TV in color was a "luxury" for them as compared to today's world, just about every TV comes in color. Over time, this new technology has improved my grandparents' lives. Over the last few years, they have both upgraded from flip phones to smart touchscreen phones, which have given them easier access to social media and helped them connect with family more easily.
