Assignment task: The Science and The Skepticism
Q1. Discuss studies about vaccines- safety, efficacy, side effects, impact on public health.
Q2. Discuss what the issues are with vaccines- why do people refuse them? Be sure to go beyond the autism issue, as many people now agree they don't cause autism but still refuse them.
Q3. Discuss any NC state and federal legislation about vaccination.
Q4. You do not need to look at the history of vaccines, just today.
Q5. Review the recommended vaccination schedules from the CDC and WHO. Discuss alternative/spaced vaccination schedule pros and cons and the science of whether or not spacing is a good idea.
Q6. Look at the previous Flu seasons and Covid rates, including rates of vaccination for both and M&M. Discuss what your group believe it indicates about American attitudes and beliefs about vaccines. Are they impacting public health?
Q7. Create a handout with the current vaccine schedule from CDC, information on how to report adverse reactions, good websites discussing vaccines, other helpful information. With reference source
