Discussion: "The Election of Barack Obama and Donald Trump"

• From the scenario, the text book and the on line lectures ONLY discuss specific aspects of the freedom movements of the 50s and 60s that you believe paved the way for the election of Barack Obama in 2008. Highlight at least one specific piece of legislation and at least one leader who contributed to increased political participation by African Americans and other minority groups. Provide evidence for your response.
• From the text book, the on line lectures and the scenarios and outside expert sources discuss specific aspects of the Trump Populist Movement and how it reflects the Populist Movement we studied in the1880s and 1890s. What themes do they have in common? Also, how does the election of Donald Trump relate to the changes in the Republican and Democratic Parties since the 1990s?
