The assigned readings delve into the various ways that community policing manifests itself within the community, and the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of some of these ways. Discuss some of the policies and programs that were developed around the concept of community policing and share your opinion on which of them you feel has the most potential to aid in crime control (e.g. crime control newsletters, community meetings, watch programs, police in schools, citizen academies, etc.). Feel free to share any personal experiences with community policing, either as a community member or a law enforcement officer.
