Patriarchy influences nearly every text we've looked at this semester. Looking at three texts from the course, discuss the theme of patriarchy, and how it effects the female characters in the story. As part of your essay, discuss situations where female characters show agency (empowerment/the ability to make choices), overcoming patriarchal influences within the story. In which of the three examples do you see a female character doing so most successfully?
