Assignment task:
I will give you a scenario for a crime that will be committed on campus. Please discuss the digital evidence that the person committing this crime may leave behind. In other words, what kind of digital evidence do you think the person leaves behind, and how can that evidence help the cops to find the criminal?
THE CRIME:
The crime took place October 28th 2022 at around 6pm. My roommate and I have little money due to being college students. We were texting all day about ways to make money, they even came up with an idea of looking through other college students cars and gathering as much money possible. Keep in mind that we had little discussion about this face-to-face, most of it took place through our cell phones. I started to Google ways to commit the crime with no trace. As the crime was playing out, the university security saw us and started driving towards us, we made a run for it but eventually got stopped by police. We did not realize the digital evidence we left behind.
