Discuss romantic movement in literature

Problem

1) Look for the biography of Charles Dickens. Critique his biography. Your critique must focus on the relevant biographical issues in his life and relate them with the themes of the Victorian Age of literature.

2) This introductory note synthesizes the effects of World War I to Modern Literature. Look for samples (excerpts) of literary pieces which shows the evolution of Modern English Literature in relation to the descriptions in this note:

"World War I brought discontent and disillusionment. Men were plunged into gloom at the knowledge that "progress" had not saved the world from war. In fiction there was a shift from novels of the human comedy to novels of characters. Fiction ceased to be concerned with a plot or a forward-moving narrative. Instead it followed the twisted, contorted development of a single character or a group of related characters."

3) Look for paintings/drawings/caricatures which display the enlightenment period in human history. Cre ate a quote which describes the painting you lifted.

4) Discuss Romantic Movement in literature. Are the themes in this era similar with your expectations of the Romantic Age?
