You might even remember Figure 7-5 on page 208 of your text showing that low-income youth with a high score on their 8th grade test actually had a lower rate of college graduation than a high-income youth with a low score on their 8th grade test.
Why would someone who is strongly motivated to get an education and work hard find it difficult to move out of poverty? Include evidence to support your arguments from this week's readings and lectures.
