Discuss one specific example of a scene from a movie or tv

The writing class, discussion assignment as following:

You've probably experienced a situation where lines blurred between arguing, debating, and fighting. In movies and TV shows about family drama, two cliche(overused or stereotypical) scenes are common:

Following a screaming match, one parent will say, "It's OK, kids. Mommy and Daddy aren't fighting, we're just..."

With escalating confusion and/or crying, a man and a woman continue to talk past each other, not realizing they want different things from the exchange.

Discuss one specific example of a scene from a movie or TV show that shows this sort of blurring. Don't just describe it or repeat it; analyze it. Why did it happen that way? Why is the scene common? Did people fail?

I don't want you to use a personal experience as your main subject, but the wisdom you gained from such experiences will probably help you express yourself.

Don't discuss anything too graphic or traumatic. We all know there are emotionally heavy scenes out there. If it starts to get dark, give the short version and move on to discussing the miscommunication, misunderstanding, deception, or denial in the scene. Profanity can usually just be cut out of dialogue without changing its meaning. When in doubt, bring the conversation back to the tactics of arguing.
