Explores the key concepts in health information technology (HIT) project management, healthcare information systems (HIS), security and organization, and data management and analytics. In addition, Week 4 examines the alignment of HIT with strategic planning, government policy, and healthcare reforms. Each of the above-mentioned topics will influence your practice in healthcare management/administration.
Learning Objectives:
a) Assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and current software applications of an IT department.
b) Examine the design, management, and maintenance of clinical information systems to maintain healthcare data security, enhance quality, decrease costs, and improve patient safety in various healthcare settings.
c) Discuss management's role in the alignment, strategic planning, and governance of an organization's information technology and technology systems.
