In order to gain insight into the management strategy related to socially responsible behavior, you will continue to be employed in your management role at Honeywell. Scroll down the About Us page to the "Corporate Responsibility" heading and respond to the following questions:
A. Discuss the impact of an organization's socially responsible behavior on its stakeholders by addressing the following:
a. Enter the "Communities" section and describe one of the areas where Honeywell is taking action to help people and/or the environment. Based on your findings, explain how the impact of this socially responsible behavior is either effective or ineffective. Finally, describe how stakeholders would be impacted if they stopped exercising this socially responsible behavior.
b. Enter the "Sustainability" section and describe one of the areas where Honeywell is taking action to help people and/or the environment. Based on your findings, explain how the impact of this socially responsible behavior is either effective or ineffective. Finally, describe how stakeholders would be impacted if they stopped exercising this socially responsible behavior.
c. Enter the "Inclusion & Diversity" section and describe one of the areas where Honeywell is taking action to help people. Based on your findings, explain how the impact of this socially responsible behavior is either effective or ineffective. Finally, describe how stakeholders would be impacted if they stopped exercising this socially responsible behavior.
d. Enter the "Integrity & Compliance" section and describe one of the areas where Honeywell is taking action to help people and/or the environment. Based on your findings, explain how the impact of this socially responsible behavior is either effective or ineffective. Finally, describe how stakeholders would be impacted if Honeywell stopped exercising this socially responsible behavior.
B. Evaluate an organization's reporting of their social responsibility activities by addressing the following:
a. Locate the "Letter From Our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer" in the Corporate Citizenship Report (second page) and address the following:
i. Using your own words, summarize their explanation of the purpose and contents of the report.
ii. In your opinion, does their explanation appear to demonstrate a strong commitment to social responsibility? Explain why or why not.
iii. Assume that you are working for this person and have been asked to provide one recommendation for improvement of this section. Describe your recommendation.
b. Review the Table of Contents of the report and select two topics that are of interest to you and address the following:
i. Summarize each topic and indicate why you selected each one. In your opinion, do you believe that Honeywell defines each issue clearly and appropriately reports their efforts and results? Explain why or why not.
ii. Using the same two topics, do you believe that Honeywell's reporting of their efforts and outcomes demonstrates that their focus is beyond pure profit? Explain why or why not.
