Assignment: Dynamics Of Groupwork
You are a worker in a non-government organisation (NGO) and you have been asked to plan one of the following new groups:
1. A support group for defence force members diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder.
2. A therapy group for young women with eating disorders.
3. A committee to establish a new hospital in a major city
4. A community action group aiming to stop a new mining developing on nearby farmland.
5. A self-help group for carers of people with dementia.
In an essay format, state which group you have chosen, what type of task or treatment group you think it is, and discuss how you would plan and begin the group. Critically analyse both the internal and external aspects that could influence the planning and beginning stages of the group.
Assessment Criteria
• Identification and overview of group and group type.
• Discussion of how group types will influence the tasks and activities involved in the planing and beginning stages of teh group work.
• Identification and critical analysis of external and internal factors that might influence and impact the early stages of the group.
• Evidence of wide reading on the topic and integration of this into your essay (at least five academic references).
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
