Discuss heterosexual male mandated to outpatient counseling

Problem:

This is a 28 year old Caucasian, single, heterosexual male who has been mandated to outpatient counseling following two arrests for DWI. He will not be eligible for license restoration until he successfully completes counseling for a period of at least 4 months. He lives alone. He has one child with an ex-girlfriend. He does not have custody and pays child support payments monthly. He is self-employed in the construction business and states that he has steady work but that finances are tight. He graduated from high school and was unable to attend college, because it was financially prohibitive. Instead, he enlisted in the armed services, where he served for a few years without combat exposure and was honorably discharged. He does not have health insurance and has not been seen by a doctor in several years. Client reports that his family has a history of alcohol related problems, specifically his father, who has never sought treatment. He describes his father as often angry and prone to outbursts, though he never witnessed domestic violence. Client started drinking around age 16. He has a history of two DWI arrests. He has also been arrested for possession of cannabis. He reports a typical pattern of drinking daily, less during the week (3-4 drinks per night) and more on the weekend (5-7 drinks per night). He also smokes marijuana 2-3 times per week and experimented with ecstasy several years ago. Need Assignment Help?
