Governors and their Experience
Your textbook discusses the office of the Governor within Texas's Executive Branch of Government. Your textbook mentions the unique informal experiences that many governors have prior to holding office. Your textbook also mentions the typical post-governorship careers that many former Governors of Texas have had. This assignment is designed to help you better understand the experiences before, during, and after their time as the Governor of Texas.
Choose an individual who has held the office of Governor of Texas since 1876 (excluding the current governor) and provide the information mentioned below. Please note, that for this assignment you will need to use outside/internet sources. You may not, however, use "crowd-sourced" sources like Wikipedia, Yahoo! Answers, or Quora (to name just a few). In general, look for websites with .edu or .org domains (although some .com websites may still be used if their content is derived from a known and reputable source).

After choosing a previous governor provide the following information in the form of a three-paragraph essay.
-What were their experiences before becoming Governor of Texas?
-family and upbringing, education, military experience, prior political experience, prior business experience are all relevant factors
-What were their experience like as Governor of Texas?
-What major issues did they face? What accomplishments did they achieve? Did their administration face any scandals? Were they popular or unpopular?
-What were their experiences after leaving the Governorship?
-Did they lose their re-election bid to become governor or did they choose not to seek re-election? Did they hold any other offices after serving as governor? Did they remain in te public spotlight in any other way than politics?
