Assignment:
For this week's discussion, I want you to watch a recent documentary titled "Splicing and Dicing DNA: Genome Engineering and the CRISPR Revolution" which was released in 2016. It provides a lot of great information on some cutting edge DNA Technology beyond what we discuss in lecture this week! After watching the video, I would like you to post in the forum but I'm going to leave the topic pretty wide open. Some points to consider (you don't have to discuss all of this!): How much of this information was new to you? Were you aware of these technologies? What surprised you the most? What concerns do you have about this type of technology? What do you think are the most important or impactful potential uses for this technology?
Since this video is fairly long, I'm not going to require you to find your own reference to share as well but if you happen to find a related article you think the group would find interesting, feel free to share it!
