In my family, there was never a history of cancer, respiratory problems. However, five of my siblings have died. And of the five that died, four of them died of cancer. They have representatives that don't care about them. Oftentimes they're poor or they live in rural areas. But they're still organized. They're fighting everyday. They're filing lawsuits, they're showing up to meetings, they're door knocking, and they're voting for people who they feel make their communities more resilient. Environmental justice has turned into a big talking point in the climate community, but when it comes to funding organizations working on the issue, they're often overlooked and these communities are often underserved.
