Question: The current study Based on the literature analysis, we found that the effect of parental mentalizing on parenting style and peer relationships remains unclear during early adolescence, especially regarding the different roles of fathers and mothers. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the relationships between parenting style, parental mentalizing, and peer relationships. Our hypotheses were as follows: Hypothesis 1: Positive parenting styles are significantly positively correlated with parental mentalizing and peer relationships, whereas negative parenting styles are negatively correlated with parental mentalizing and peer relationships during early adolescence. Hypothesis 2: Parental mentalizing mediates the relationship between parenting style and peer relationships.
