Discussion Post: Accents and Dialects around the World
Since we have a wonderfully diverse group of students, I thought it would be interesting to discuss the use of accents and dialects in your own contexts.
Initial Response
In your initial response, respond to the following prompts
1) Remind the class of your home country
2) Discuss the different accents and dialects in your home country. How different, for example, are dialects across different regions?
3) Finally, discuss how accents and dialects may affect communication in professional settings.
