1. The report identifies 2 hazards - sliding into ball pools and jumping off of the mountain climb. Do you feel that removing these two elements made the playground safer? Why or Why Not?
2. The boy that died was identified as a 13-year-old boy. Do you think the boy's age was more or less important in the accident as compared to the design of the slide? Why or Why Not?
3. There is no doubt that SCPE equipment is safer than traditional playground equipment. But, is it possible to design out all of the hazards? How does parental (personal) responsibility fit in?
4. Search the Internet for additional references to playground safety and post them as a reply to the original link in Link Sharing.
