Discuss core function of the childrens crisis unit

Problem: Summarize: The core function of the children's crisis unit is to stabilize and redirect youth to the most appropriate and least restrictive treatment setting consistent with their needs. Services are provided using a treatment team approach, with multidisciplinary staff working in a coordinated effort to best meet the needs of each individual (and their families). This individualized service is based upon the objectives developed collaboratively among the individual, the family, the psychiatrist, the nurse, the social workers and discharge planners, behavioral technicians, clinical therapists, psychology interns, and case management support. The treatment plan is then reviewed with each individual (and their family) to obtain feedback on individualized progress towards meeting established goals. ln addition, this individualized treatment plan is used to re-assess the youth's current needs pertaining to the level of care, treatment objectives, or changes in family/lifestyle that may impact their recovery and resiliency. Once the youth is admitted into the unit, a nursing assessment is done, and they are given an orientation regarding procedures on the unit. Youth also receive a history & physical as well as a psychiatric evaluation by a licensed physician/psychiatrist or APRN. If the youth is at risk of withdrawal, withdrawal management scales will?
