According to Köppen's climate classification system, the part of Nevada I am located in is the BWk climate zone which is a cool desert. A cool desert is a desert area that goes through a warm and hot season and winter seasons and is caused by ocean currents circulating and causing less precipitation. These currents move from a high latitude to a low latitude along the Pacific Ocean. This cools the lower part of the atmosphere causing convection and evaporation to halt and leading to the area having little to no precipitation (Dalhman & Renwick, 2014, pp. 82).
There are a lot of animal farms in my area that climate change would affect. Most of these farms are free-range and allow cattle to roam wherever with the farmers following them. If the climate changed then the cows might roam further and end up locating themselves in a different area more than they are now. This would make it harder for farmers to keep up with the movements or make them have to relocate completely. Ski resorts in the mountains would also get affected depending on how the climate changes. Too much snow could cause the ski resort to not be operable, but not enough could shut them down completely.
