Choose a significant issue in contemporary American policing and
Create a 5-6 page paper describing the latest available research on this topic. You are free to choose a subject that interests you, but you must choose an issue that has been studied sufficiently to provide enough material for a short paper. Some examples of good topics would include officer involved shootings and potential bias, the pros and cons of zero-tolerance policing, levels of officer job satisfaction in post Ferguson-effect era policing, etc... Choose a topic that interests you. If you have difficulty identifying a good paper topic, email me and I will assist you in making a choice. The goal of the assignment is to identify an important challenge in American law enforcement and present both, or all, sides of the issue, and then identify what solutions or strategies are currently being tested to address the challenges presented by the issue.
