Assignment task: Current Event Project
The final project of the Middle Eastern module will center on a current event regarding an issue in the Middle East. You will select a current event that embodies the theme of this module: The Individual versus Society. Once you find your chosen article, you will summarize the article and then choose three quotes that support the theme and explain how the chosen quotes support the theme. Then, you will provide your opinion about the article.
Follow the steps below to make sure you meet each requirement of the project.
Step 1: Select an article about a current event in the Middle East.
Step 2: Read the chosen article and write a summary of at least ten lines
Step 3: Select three quotes from the article that support the theme of "Individual versus Society" and explain how each quote supports the theme.
Step 4: make an opinion about the issues in the article in at least 8 lines. agree or disagree? What would you do or change?
Step 5: Submit the project (include the article and citations) in a Word document, PowerPoint, Prezi.
Grading Criteria:
- Chosen Article
- Summary of the Article
- Three quotes and explanations of how the quotes relate to the theme
- Written opinion of the issues in the article
- Works Cited for article
