Consider asking a question or sharing your own personal experience. --My initial opinion from the Module One Discussion on whether genetics (nature) or the environment (nurture) has a greater influence has not changed. I still strongly believe that both nature and nurture have strong influences as these concepts almost intertwine with one another. Although we develop through our genetics, the environment around us also plays a strong role. There may be genetic similarities among caregiver and child, but how the child is ultimately nurtured by the caregiver plays an influential role in the child's development. With the environment, there are also other influential factors like, socioeconomic status and culture. Both genetics and the environment can influence and impact a child's mental health. Through genetics there is the probability of mental health issues being passed down.
