Part 1
Using Internet research, investigate current Federal Reserve Monetary Policy. Write a brief report outlining this policy in the past twelve months, and how it relates to the economy, and your personal finances. For example, will the current policy make you more or less likely to take out a major loan, (car or house purchase), in the next year? Your report should include any changes in the three mechanisms the Federal Reserve uses to control the supply of money in the economy.
Part 2
Choose a publicly-traded company you have an interest in. Use three Internet resources to prepare a two-page double-spaced paper responding to a scenario of whether you would buy or sell this company's stock given the research you uncover in your three resources. One of the sources must be the company's own website. You're looking for recent trends, financial information, and other information to help you make your decision.
You must provide the URL's for the three websites.
EXAMPLE
- For example, based on what you read about the management structure and strategy of the company, do you see them as prepared and organized for the future.
- What about their marketing strategy?
- Financial strength?
- You don't have to answer these three questions directly, but they are provided to you to help guide your thinking and research.
