Discussion:
Essentially Congo is a mess right now. There are hundreds of accounts of corruption, human rights violations and government censorship of any opposition voices. The economy is very weak and since it is based on agriculture and forestry it is very susceptible to drought, flooding and blight. The civil war in 1997 only made matters worse. Many foreigners and businesses fled the country as a result of the civil war taking much needed finances and knowledge with them. The educational system in Congo is also in shambles. Though public education is technically compulsory and free in fact it is neither. Some private schools have been started up but due to lack of funding and experience they are largely ineffective.
So, with all of these negative points against it what should Congo do to enjoy progress in the future?
