Assignment Task: John was stunned by the doctor's suggestion that Melanie stop taking birth control pills. Until now he had given little thought to birth control because Melanie had always taken care of it, but now he would have to assume some of the responsibility. Melanie's reaction to the doctor's suggestion was mixed. She was glad to avoid the possible health risks associated with hormonal contraception, but she also realized that other contraceptive methods were not as convenient. And although she had resented slightly having to be completely responsible for birth control, now she was not sure if she wanted to share that control.
