Assignment:
Domestic Terrorism
You are making a presentation to a group of law enforcement officers. Your objective is to inform the LEOs of the extent of the problem facing law enforcement in regard to domestic terrorism and what they can do to secure their relative communities. You will use a PowerPoint presentation to discuss the issue.
Content Requirements:
Choose ONE of the following topics:
• Lone-wolf offender
• Radicalized extremist(s) group (currently active)
(Note: It may not be the same organization used for the essay assignment.) You MUST address the following:
i. Briefly describe the nature of the problem. (Carefully analyze the problem: myths vs. facts.)
2. Discuss the history of the problem.
3. Describe the extent of the problem/issue (Are citizens/businesses at risk?) (Use research and statistics.)
4. Use at least two actual exampleslcases to illustrate the problem.
5. What are the best practices to detect offenders/potential offenders/attacks?
6. What are some of the problems faced by local law enforcement?
7. What infrastructure protection is needed?
o Infrastructure is the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g., buildings, roads, and power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise.
8. What are some recommended long-term solutions?
9. Any other items of interest to law enforcement.

1. Length: 23 to 25 slides.
2. Design:
• Do not to overcrowd your slides with information.
• Be thorough, but also be concise.
• Use bullet points to highlight main points.
• If you use graphics, be sure to condense them, so your presentation is not too large.
3. Mechanics:
• PowerPoint does not require that you write full sentences or paragraphs; in fact, this will detract from your presentation.
• Your ideas must flow logically and your points should be presented in a consistent format.
• Check your spelling and use standard American English.
4. You should consult at least three (3) SCHOLARLY sources (including your textbook) in preparing your presentation. Your last slide should be a References slide following APA format.
