Assignment task:
Critique: LISK Podcast One
Please choose ONE main point that you would like to discuss about LISK, particularly when it comes to how women are discussed, how women are victimized or perceived as victims, and/or the nature of violence against women. Also up for discussion: characters, families, situations, relationships, or any other elements that stand out to you. Write one critique per concept. Please do not summarize episodes, but rather, dissect how what you hear to reach a concise reaction or conclusion. You may also want to discuss how this real life set of stories compares to the fiction characters we read earlier in the unit.
You will compose a critique each time you complete a reading or viewing/listening assignment. It should be a minimum of 250 words and act like a journal where you share your feelings and ideas about what you've read. Some suggestions include:
Focus on aspects of the text that you find intriguing, startling, important, disturbing, confusing, enlightening etc. If you are having difficulty understanding the text, write about it. What doesn't work for you? Where did you lose interest? Do you disagree with the author's point of view?
Be open about your thoughts and feelings, but avoid profanity or statements like, "I don't like this," or "I can't relate to this."
Be thoughtful, and be original.
