Facets of Leadership
In 2013, a peer-reviewed article in the Neurodiagnostic Journal was published entitled "Facets of Leadership" by Dorothy Gaitertitled. The truth of Facets about Leadership and Organizations have responded to this with myriads of education and training resources, which seem to be plentiful, (Amazon.com has over 9,000 references on leadership.), yet most attempts at building quality leadership are either far too complex or too simplistic to be of any practical use to leaders who need to make things happen.
Here are the five key facets of quality leadership: Focus, Authenticity, Courage, Empathy, and Timing. We should always have that mine set to be able to focus in whatever we do in life for example having effective leaders stay focused on the outcomes they wish to create, and don't get too married to the methods used to achieve them. Authenticity is someone who is a leader who is authentic attracts followers, even leaders who are viewed as being highly driven and difficult to work for.
Briefly summarize the main points of the journal article you located. How were you able to determine the credibility of the information presented in the article? Does the information stand on its own, or does it need to be corroborated? Describe how you might use this article in your professional work.
The article did not require any corroboration for the simple fact that it stand on its own from any other previous articles. I believe this article has many challenges of its own. These facets of quality leadership are not exhaustive. Just as one would look at the facets of a diamond, upon closer observation other facets become observable. Any person can aspire to being a great leader by commencing with these facets.
Making and choosing from a type of leader it should depend on the work you are in. Taking risk and challenge in your work place or in your personal life should always be a risk taker. Like I always say if you are not a risk taker then you will not get very far in life cause you will always wounder what if.
