Problem:
A social issue that is important to me would be the lack of resources and help for our younger generation. This is definitely an issue in today's society because it is a lot of the reason kids get into gangs and drugs. It starts at home, but if they are not getting the necessary guidance there, then the community they live in should have better options available to them. Teachers in schools aren't what they used to be, either. The board of education is either tying their hands or they just don't care enough anymore. My nine-year-old daughter informed a teacher of one of her little friends, who confessed she was getting physically abused at home, and even showed her the bruises. My daughter went to the teacher to inform her about it, and the teacher told my daughter she couldn't do anything about it because she wasn't her student. She asked my daughter to leave it alone. My daughter was so disappointed that she came home crying. I thought teachers were mandated reporters. What do you think this will do to this little girl? How could this affect my daughter?
