For this topic we are discovering Future v. Open Space videos, that add understanding to our background material while judging their overall organization and representation.
- Starting off the search with "Harrison Owens Open Space Technology" on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDi0GLTO9ao), I began to watch a raw unfiltered video interview of his process to discovering Open Space and also became more understanding as to how this process works. Surprisingly through real world experience and the examples given, the pictures ties together with the background material support. Harrison states that it is simply a group of people "large conference" sitting in a circle at a designated location finding a solution. More personal example would be for the reading military personnel of setting a Shura, conflicted parties gather in a organized manner to better find a solution or resolution.
Poorly formatted this video shows no organization but is presented through the raw mind of Mr. Owens using realistic examples one could relate to.
Secondly, the search of Future Search led to a video interviewing Janoff and Marvin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPgGv48r_D8), detailing their ideology around Future Search discovery and implementation. One thing they stated was the need for leadership wanting to make a change using others around them for ideas, secondly the best thing they spoke on was for the leader to do less within the Future Search so their employees can do more. While this was not the best video to accurately dissect Future Search it was two key points as to the employee speaking up and taking actions, which to they can reap the rewards.
Formatted as a proper interview, this video quickly sums up two major aspects of Future Search, yet fails to details specific steps as how to conduct a proper one.
