Overview:
This assignment asks for you to differentiate between the long-term and short-term problems of any jurisdiction.
Instructions:
Crime Problems:
• Burglaries at high tech stores
• Disorderly Youth at a Movie Theatre Youth disturbances in the evenings at the local playgrounds and parks
• Disturbances and alcohol/drug related crimes during the summer in a beach community
• Pocketbooks stolen from the elderly in front of banks around the first of the month
Using each of the crime problems.
• Discuss how they are manifested as immediate problems, short-term problems, and long-term problems.
• For each type of crime, choose one of the categories of long-term problems that best fits the crime type. Explain how this crime fits that particular type of long-term problem.
• Decide what type of data can be collected on these cases that would help police understand the problem. These data types can be listed.
Requirements:
• Minimum four pages in length, excluding the Title and Reference page.
• APA format, including an in-text citation for referenced works.
• At least two resources.
