Part One
1. Did you have any desire to watch the Olympics opening ceremony? Yes or No, Why or Why Not?
2. How did your chosen media outlet cover the opening ceremony? A lot of details? Photos? Video? Please explain. My media chosen outlet is Facebook
3. How much coverage has there been in your chosen media outlet over the first few days? What have they covered? What did you notice about the coverage? Did you want more coverage? Did you go to other outlets to find more media coverage?
4. Do you think you are viewing the Olympics differently than you would have if you hadn't taken our class? Why or Why Not?
5. Do you think your 'view' on media coverage will be different moving forward? How? Why? Why Not?
Part Two
Please take two timelines from two chapters of your choice and compare the timelines.
Discuss in two to four paragraphs the differences between the media and their progress. Any similarities? Any differences?
Address the future of the two mediums. Where do you think they are headed in the future and explain why you think that.
Example: look at books and newspapers - somewhat similar medium in that they are printed text but you can certainly compare two unlike media as well. Also - if you use the Internet as one of your media- don't forget about media convergence. The Internet is a combination and so you have to keep that in mind as you discuss.
Note: Please take two timelines from the book "Media and Culture" and and answer part two question.
