If you look back at the 3 Worlds of IT....you will see that this case involves the adoption phase. Providian Trust went through the selection phase...but now they are having some problems (that's putting it mildly).
Don't forget to consider the time frame of the case. This is when PCs were just being implemented into organizations and most people had never used a PC before.
