Assignment Task: Larry is a 12 year old boy living in an Individual Living Arrangement (ILA) the primary issues are:

  • Larry has been diagnosed with a global delay and is on the autism spectrum.
  • Larry's aggressive behavior - he regularly hits the staff and engages in "tantrums."
  • Larry only attends school for 30 minutes a day because of the school's inability to deal with his behaviours.
  • Larry is verbal, but has difficulty engaging in conversation with others. If permitted, he would spend all of his time in his bedroom on his computer
  • Larry regularly strips off all of his clothes and runs out of the house. He has been found naked in the supermarket on a few occasions.

You are a Child and Youth Care Worker on Larry's team. The team is working with Larry from a strength-based, developmental, and trauma-informed perspective.
