Activity 1:
a) Construct a brief one page draft letter to the Chief Executive Officer of a local hospital seeking their involvement in the development of a community disaster plan and explaining the importance and value of their involvement.
b) Describe five impediments that may be experienced in the development of a disaster plan for a health service and explain how may those impediments be overcome?
c) If you were developing a plan for a rural region, who would you want on your planning committee and why? In identifying who, do not identify individuals by name but rather their roles.
d) Briefly discuss five keys to effective disaster plan implementation. In your answer incorporate factors that contribute to plans failing to be implemented and how you will avoid this occurring.
e) Briefly identify and discuss the role of government in disaster management.
I think this activity need more than two pages, so you have to write that between 4 to 5 pages I’m not sure, anyway you have to answer all the questions. (Try to write it in 4 pages)

a) Describe the key components of the emergency health management system in Australia or in another jurisdiction with which you are familiar.
b) Identify key strategies necessary to ensure health system preparedness. Consider in particular:

Activity 3:
a) Identify key issues to be addressed in each phase of a mass-casualty burn disaster in Australia.
b) Should there be increased public awareness of Chemical Warfare Agents? Explain why or why not.
c) Consider the Big Day Out concerts. Describe the key aspects of risk at such an event and indicate how the biomedical, psychosocial and environmental domains may interrelate to inform the risk profile?
d) Briefly examine the Swine Flu pandemic and identify five key lessons for pandemic (Two pages)
Activity 4:
a) Describe the key components of a resilient community.
b) Identify and describe five key strategies whereby you may improve the resilience of a community.
c) Discuss some of the lessons learned from the deployment of Foreign Field Hospitals in disasters. (Two pages)
